NURK TWINS – NURK TWINS (1978)

The Nurk Twins were a Norwegian rock band from Stavanger established in the early 1960s. Despite only releasing one LP towards the end of their career, the band has achieved legendary status in Western Norway. They won the Nordic championship in rock in 1965, released an LP with a Dire Straits-like rock sound before Dire Straits became known, and underwent several lineup changes as well as shifts in musical style.

After several lineup changes, Nurk Twins finally went into the studio in 1978 to record their first album. By this time, the group had built a reputation in Bergen, so the journey led to Bergen Lydstudio, where the LP was recorded with Trygve Thue as producer. For many, Nurk Twins stand as the epitome of a great band that never received the recognition it deserved.
